Challenge
Once on board, every AIDA guest gets a personalized boarding card which serves as identification, means of payment and the cabin door key.
Guests on each ship typically rotate on a weekly basis, so thousands of board cards have to be printed each week.
Manually operated legacy card printers deliver up to 3 cards per minute, so this job may take up to 2 full workdays per cruise – and the programming of card RFID chips for the door locks comes on top of that.
Solution
Our comprehensive solution enables unsupervised batch printing of board cards.
We combined industrial-grade card printing with proprietary RFID chip
programming techniques that produce cards which are fully compatible with Assa
Abloy / VingCard anti-cloning protection.
We support batch printing on up to 4 devices in parallel, using volume
card printers by Axess, NBS, Zebra and Evolis, up to the mass production ready
Quantum 2 model.
We also support multiple Omnikey RFID encoders to enable the programming
of a broad range of RFID devices including cards, armbands and other wearable
devices.
